Physical Training
The physical training program is mandated by the Air Force as it is an important key aspect for aviation and spaceflight. Physical training is a key element in supporting your team. Cadets will also improve self-confidence, build teamwork skills and instill a sense of determination through physical training.
The squadron devotes one meeting a month to this discipline. The goal of the cadet physical fitness program is to make you physically fit and to motivate you to develop a lifelong habit of exercising regularly. It is also an important part of promotion requirements. Each cadet based on their age and rank has a requirement, either a certain number of repetitions in a minute or a time for the mile, to meet for these four exercises:
-
The Sit and Reach- tests flexibility of the lower back and hamstrings.
-
Curl Ups- test abdominal strength and endurance.
-
Push Ups- test upper body strength and endurance.
-
The Mile Run- tests heart and lung endurance.
